Amalia Liakou is a special case of vivacity, which combines
knowledge on issues that extends greatly from her artistic performance in
the photography inspired by the look of surrealism. Amalia Liakou in her
photographic work manages to create objects – whatever they may be –that
come to meet you and stand in front of you, ontologically autonomous
objects, (objects with their own existence), that interfere with reality, like
the famous objects of the paranoiac-critical method of Dali that invades in
the life itself. (That’s) A philosophical dimension I have not seen better than in
the “epiphanies” by James Joyce and the intervention and variation
of life itself by the surrealists.

*The "paranoiac-critical" method in art is an invention of Dali, and is a surrealist technique designed to access the unconscious in the artistic creation. This is a spontaneous method of non-logical knowledge. Associations, image or object links that are not connected to each other; all this is directly linked to surreal automatism, and freudian theories around dreams.
